19 Years and still going!
This has been one for the books due to being very busy! With the enthusiasm and drive of our own “ fantastic four “ . We are making sure the community knows we are here and willing to help uplift the quality of life for our citizens of Orangeville and surrounding communities.
With the launch of our “Helping Hands” program we were strong right out of the gate and partnered with the Gun Lake Women’s Club to help a local family who lost everything in a house fire with a donation of $250.00
We were chosen to be the charity of choice for the Gun Lake Winterfest for 2024 and we received a $4,000.00 donation, we also rejoined the Gun Lake Business Area Association and have had booths both at Gun Lake Winterfest, Christmas on the Corridor as well as Fall Fest, Our Pizza Hut, Delton Moose Lodge and Tai Chi fundraiser have netted over $1200.00
We renewed our CPR & First Aid training though Hart Saver and our partnership with the Orangeville Baptist Church is getting stronger with the help in bringing food to our many clients, the Spring & Fall Clothing Drives . With the new year here this spring we will be partnering with OBC to bring a new program for Seniors of our area. Once a month our Seniors will meet at OBC and enjoy a fun-filled afternoon making new and renewing friendships. This program is still in planning stages and our first meeting will take place on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at that time we will have a questionnaire to pick a name and what events. Many people like the idea and the Women’s Giving Circle of Barry County have contributed $5,700 to help fund this project.
Our annual Gulf Outing is still having remarkable success raising money to fund us for the upcoming year.
The Helping Hands committee held a benefit for Shaylee Elkins to help with medical expenses for her cancer stem cell transplant. The Helping Hands in conjunction with the Ladies of United Bank Gun Lake branch raised $10,000 for Shaylee. She and her family were very grateful and very overwhelmed with joy for the outpouring of love from the community.
Smiles for Christmas was a big event this year. We had over 132 kids and 172 families needing gifts and food boxes. With the OCO group and Jodi Patrick they collected canned food and stored it in a rental storage unit till transported to Chad and Melisa Bourdo’s to be packed into boxes. So many people gave so many hours this year to help make Orangeville Community Outreach a successful year for 2024.
With your continued dedication and support Orangeville Community Outreach will continue to thrive and be a part of uplifting so many in our community thank you all .
Sincerely,
Mark R Paradowski/CEO & Founder, Orangeville Community Outreach
